Meet Our Coaches

Rob Thornsby
Coach Rob is the owner of Fury Soccer Academies and has coached youth soccer since 1992. Rob is a native of the United Kingdom and before arriving in the US Rob conducted satellite academy programs for Blackburn Rovers of the English Premier League (EPL). Rob holds the UEFA B license and is also a certified Goalkeeper coach.

Jason Bean
Coach Jason has worked for Fury Soccer Academies for 3 years and grew up playing club soccer in the DFW area. He was named All-Tarrant county his senior year at Keller High School and then played at Richland College. Today he continues his passion for soccer playing in a North Texas amateur league. Jason has vast experience coaching boys and girls ages 3-14. He has coached for Grapevine Southlake Soccer Association, TDA Soccer Club, and acted as the Director of Player Development for the North Ft. Worth Alliance Soccer Association. Jason currently holds his National 'D' coaching license.

Ally Koonce
Coach Ally is a native of Tennessee and is a proud student at TCU studying broadcoast journalism. Ally has many years playing experience and played on the State championship winning team when representing her collegiate school in Richmond, Virginia. Ally currently has the USSF F license.

Tommy Curtis
Coach Tommy holds the USSF F license and brings lots of enthusiasm and dedication to his role of staff coach with Fury Soccer Academies. Coach Tommy is also an Army-reservist

Alphonse Ngon
Coach Al has worked for Fury Soccer Academies for 4 years and is a former professional player for Cameroon National Team (5 years) and spent 4 years playing professionally in France. Coach Al also played for UISL Lightning and DFW Toros in the United States. He currently holds the USSF B license.

Phil Salyer
Coach Phil is a native North Texas. He attended Northwest High school where he was a standout player. Phil initially played in the Bundesliga with 1st division Werder Bremen, and later in the MLS with the Dallas Burn. After several successful seasons Phil decided to finish his education at Maryland University where he coached and earned a degree in Kinesiology. Phil holds a USSF 'B' National coaching license and currently assists Fury Soccer Academies on all skills camps.

Emma Wright
Emma Wright comes to Fury Soccer Academies after serving as the assistant coach at Southeastern Louisiana University (D1) in 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 where she helped team advanced to the semi-finals in the conference tournament in both seasons.
A native of Manchester, England, Emma spent the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 seasons at Christian Brothers University (D2) as an assistant coach in Memphis, TN.
During her two assistant roles her duties included planning team and individual practice sessions, conducting conditioning sessions, arranging travel and overseeing player’s classroom development. Wright also brings club experience with her having coached several teams in both the U.S. and her native England. Her recent clubs include Mandeville Lakers, LA and Collierville Lobo’s, TN.
Emma played collegiate soccer at both Central Connecticut State and Slippery Rock University and was a three-year letter winner with Blue Devils where she was a First-Team All-Northeast Conference selection. She scored nine goals and added eight assists in her three years at CCSU for 26 points. She was the Central Connecticut Sportswriters Player of the Year helping the team win two NEC Titles.
Emma graduated from Central Connecticut in May of 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in art specializing in graphic design. She completed her master's degree in education at Christian Brother University.
Before arriving in the USA, Emma played in the premiership for both Doncaster Belles and Everton who won the English premiership title. She was also a member of the National Women’s Football Academy from 1998-2000 who were undefeated for her two years there coached by Ted Copeland, former National Team Coach. Wright also had England National team u18’s trials 1998.

Emma currently holds the USSF C and D licences, FA Coaching Certificate and the NSCAA State Goalkeeping Diploma.
